Dear AMS Parents,

Today, Governor Doug Ducey and Superintendent Kathy Hoffman issued a statement that schools will be closed through the end of the year.

How will this affect AMS? The physical campuses of AMS schools will be closed through end of the year. Meal programs will continue through the end of the year and so will learning and instruction at home.

Update on Home Learning and Online Instruction:

AMS will be providing instruction until the last day of our calendar year via online delivery and additional resources via packets. AMS is in the process of preparing for digital instruction through the year end and anticipates to rollout our curriculum online on the following timeline: (1) April 6th-April 10th: learning packets continue with parents and students receiving orientation in online curriculum and (2) April 13th – end of year: online instruction utilizing Google Classroom, interactive videos, and conferencing begins. More information regarding how students will learn beginning April 13th will follow shortly.

Technology for Families in Need:

For families that do not have sufficient access to laptops, desktops, or tablets at home (for at least 4 hours a day for each child), we are offering 1 Chromebook per 2 children in a family. We are requesting that parents use this resource only if they have an actual need and qualify under reduced income guidelines as we anticipate that many of our families will require this service.

More information regarding pickup of these resources will be provided this week.
