In this video, Principal McCullough shares her vision for AMS Power.
Hi my name is Nicole McCullough I’m the new Principal at AMS Power.
I’ve been in education for about 20 years. I’ve served as a classroom teacher both at Middle School and High School. I’ve also been in administration for about 5 years now.
I love being with students but when I’m not at school working with students and staff and families, I love just playing soccer hanging out with my 3 boys who keep me on my toes. And if I’m not on land, I’m under the water because I’m an avid scuba diver.
I am a native of Mesa and I really love being a part of the community. Even more, I’m really excited to continue the traditions that Noah Webster has put into place and continue that level of excellence for our students that push and drive us forward.
The key lessons I’ve taken with me as an administrator are just to be on your toes. I think every day is so exciting because, driving to work, I never know what the day is going to bring and I love new challenges. I love meeting new people, I love help helping students solve problems and grow, and become the people that they’re going to be.
I love working with students to help them find their potential and then I think school is really about a time where you’re of finding out what are my interests, what am I good at?, and what do I want to explore more of.
I think that’s a great time for elementary and middle school is that time where kids really get to just find their passions and be inspired by other people.
I’m really looking forward to being the new principal at AMS Power because it’s our time to come together as a community and build something amazing amazing for students where they are taking on the time in classroom, the time to learn authentically, and I never want a kid to ask us, or a student to ask us, why am I learning this? I want them to know that it’s so important to you any avenue that they reach out to do for themselves.
I never want a student in our care to say “oh a doors closed and because I don’t know math, or I don’t understand science,…” I want them to have all the possibilities open to them as a student.
Something you should know about me is, I’m always here for the community. I always want to hear what you have to share. And I always want us to build a partnership together. And through our partnership, we will do incredible things for students.
When a student leaves our time here with AMS Power, what we’d like to see is that our students know that they were loved and that they were cared for. And that they learned and grew and that we will always be cheering them on.
AMS Power is excited to welcome families to our full‑day Pre-K program, designed to give young learners a joyful and supportive start to their school journey. Our school day runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with breakfast and lunch provided so children can stay energized and ready to learn. Tuition is $190 per week, and children who are 4 years old by December 31 of this year are eligible to join. With a caring, self‑contained classroom and a comfortable 1:15 teacher‑to‑student ratio, we’re committed to creating a nurturing space where every child can grow, explore, and thrive. Join our interest list!
In this video, Principal McCullough presents why middle-school at the Academies of Math & Science is a great place for scholars to be seen, heard and valued.
Hi my name is Nicole McCullough, I am the Founding Principal at AMS Power.
Do you feel like your middle schooler is lost in the shuffle? It’s easy to have that happen at a large school.
A lot of middle schoolers have a lot of different things going on. They are at that age where they want to hold someone’s hand, at the same time they want their independence. They want to find out who they are and what they’re truly interested in.
At AMS Power, we have teachers and staff that work with students in the classroom supporting them with academics, supporting them emotionally, and supporting them in social aspects to gain more friends, to really get involved in sports and clubs, and find out what their true interests are.
Students at AMS Power receive more individual attention, more support and opportunities to participate, and a stronger sense of belonging. Students become part of a close-knit community where they are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.
If you’re looking for a place for your middle schooler where they are seen, valued, heard supported, and just encouraged and inspired by others. Then we really would love to have you as part of our AMS Power family.
